Miss McDermot's class 6
The day started off with Maths, the children were learning about adding and multiplying, i sat at the less achieving table to offer more help. I talked through their problems one at a time and explained everything to them, i then marked their work and gave positive feedback where i thought appropriate.
After, they then continued with their english project, i walked around the class to help whoever required it.
They then moved on to the subject of equality and fairness, they looked at the olympics for male and female only competitions and discussed if this was fair?
They then designed posters of fairness to be displayed in the classroom.
After lunch they moved on to science, where they looked at displays of the solar system around the classroom. They then designed an information sheet of what they will find in space.
Throughout the day i helped the children generally with their work and i also set out the equipment and tidied it away at the end.
I mostly observed miss McDermot on how she conducted the class to get an idea of how to deal with children of that age group. I was also told that one child in the class has child protection laws against her and was told how to act with her, as she had previously been expelled from her last primary school because of behaviour issues.
