My time management- Headdress and stage designs

For the time management of my project I kept a brief diary of what work I did outside of college. I recorded the time, day, venue and a brief description of the activity, as well as some of my own comments on how well I thought I had managed my time.

DAYTIMEACTIVITYVENUECOMMENTS
14th march 201110AM- 1PM I continued with my sketch book by sketching my design ideas and sticking in some materials to show an idea on how the designs will look.At home in the front room I thought my ideas turned out very well and are definitely helping me with my final design ideas.
15th march 20118AM- 3PM I started making the dresses by cutting out the patterns and sewing them together. I managed to complete 2 dresses and I then moved on to doing some headdress design ideas in my sketch bookAt home in the front roomI was very pleased how the dresses turned out but I don’t think I completed as much sketch book work as I think i could. I was distracted when my family came home from work and school.
29th march 201110AM- 4PM I started making my headdresses. I used card to make the rollers then used copydex to glue the pink material on, then I built them up in to a cone shape and stapled it all togetherAt home in the front room It turned out very well I thought. It was very effective and turned out bigger than what I intended
4th April 201111AM- 4PMI continued to make my headdresses by making the rollers and sticking them togetherAt home in the front roomI was very pleased as I managed to finish two pieces.
5th April 20118AM- 10PMI made my story board by getting the images I needed and re doing them in to cartoon styles in Photoshop, then I wrote out my colour schemes I chose for the stage and did more stage drawings. At home in the front roomI was happy with the outcome but wished I put more detailed photo shopped images in to look more appealing.

From my diary It shows that I prefer working in the front room that is because it is very spacious and I find that I work better whilst watching the T.V. The times that I spend working are different but I do prefer working in the morning as I am more aware. I don’t tend to concentrate on one aspect of the project as I get uninterested doing the same thing all day so I move on to different areas, which means that each area progresses at the same rate instead of putting a lot of detail and attention to one and leaving the other to the last minute showing to be weaker. I think my habit is useful and effective. My main distractions are when my family come home as I like to work on my own and my phone i.e. when I receive a text/call. To avoid these distractions I will not have my phone around whilst I’m working and to work only when my family are at work and school. Throughout this project I’ve also noticed that I am unorganised and it proved to be difficult. To target this I am going to get a diary to record all my information in and a folder for each tutor to keep all of my sheets and briefs.
